Miss Fothergill

Ms Akunda

Year 3 teacher

Our Year 3 team comprises of two teachers, Mrs Akunda and Miss Fothergill.

In Year 3 we cover a range of exciting topics including the Stone Age and ‘Let’s go on an adventure, to Guatamala!’, where we explore Mayan civilisations.  The children also take part in some exciting trips including visiting the Museum of London and the Museum of Childhood which links in with our topic units.

Another focus is exploring the death of Tutankhamen which we look at through the discovery of The Lindow Man in our history topic and through the reading of a non-fiction book in our English lessons.

Homework is given out on a Friday and needs to be handed in the following Tuesday. Children are expected to learn their spellings and write them in full sentences. Reading Records are sent out at the beginning of the school year with the expectation that children read at least 5 x per week, we ask parents to sign the reading record and send into school regularly.
