Dear Parents/Carers

Welcome back. We hope you had a brilliant Easter holiday.

Our topics this first and second summer terms are Bears and Minibeast respectively. To start off the Bears topic, we are reading the book ‘Brown Bear, Brown Bear what do you See? by Eric Carle and then go on to read other bear books like ‘We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, Bear in a Square,Goldilocks and the three bears, Peace at Last, Whatever Next, Where’s Ted, Can’t You Sleep Little Bear.  These books are readily available in your local libraries and I would strongly encourage you to get any of them on loan to share with your child. They are very interesting for the children and their repetitive structure makes reading them fun, easy and enjoyable.  We will also be looking at different types of bears and their habitats. In celebration of the Bear topic the children will have a Teddy Bear picnic before the half term.

Our RE topic for Summer 1 is ‘Good News’.  The children will be thinking about what good news is, share their own experiences of good news and reflect on how they feel when they hear good news. We will then be exploring how Jesus’ disciples felt when they received the promise of the Holy Spirit.

Please remember that it is a new term and we are collecting £8 off parents for ‘Piggy Money’.

As usual, Reading Book changing day is on Wednesdays.  It is important that your child brings their book bag to take a book home.

If you have any queries, please do not hesitate to speak to Vivien or myself.

Many thanks.
