Every morning between 9:00am and 9:30am every child in Reception and Year 1 spend time with an adult in group guided reading session. The children work on developing their fluency when reading texts and decoding words using phonic strategies.

Children and parents turned up in their droves on Tuesday and Thursday morning to support the school’s Walk to School week initiatives. A group of intrepid cooks gathered on Friday afternoon to take part in Jamie Oliver’s live link up as part of his Big Revolution project. Children from 5EJ gave a very convincing performance to the rest of the school on Tuesday afternoon about the importance of Road Safety. They spent most of the morning session working with Ellie, a representative from the Konflux Theatre Group preparing a play that demonstrated the perils associated with road safety and the importance of travelling safely. Children from both year 4 classes made the trip the ‘home of cricket’ on Tuesday to watch Middlesex play Yorkshire in an LV Division One County Game.
